GRADING

What A, B and C actually mean.

We grade every device the same way whether we are buying it from you or selling it to you. It keeps the price honest in both directions.

A
MintLooks unused. No marks on the screen or body.
  • No scratches, dents or chips anywhere
  • Screen is flawless under a light
  • Battery health 90% or above on iPhone
  • Fully working, no faults at all
B
GoodLight signs of use. Everything works properly.
  • Light scratches or scuffs, nothing deep
  • No cracks in the glass or the back
  • Battery holds a normal day of use
  • Every function works as it should
C
WorkingHeavier wear, or a fault, but it still powers on and works.
  • Deeper scratches, dents or worn edges
  • May have a cracked screen or back glass
  • Battery may be weak
  • Powers on and the main functions work

Not sure which one fits? Bring it in. We grade it in front of you and explain what we see.

Small print

Honest about the edge cases.

If we disagree with your grade

  • We show you exactly what we found
  • You get the revised figure before anything is agreed
  • You can walk away, no pressure and no charge

Broken, but not worthless

  • Cracked screens still have value, ask us
  • Sometimes repairing then selling pays you more
  • We will tell you which way is better for you

Selling and buying questions.

The figure you see online is for the condition you picked. When you bring the device in we check the screen, body, battery and every function, then confirm the grade. If we agree with your assessment the price does not change.

Cash is money in your hand. Credit is worth more and can be spent on a repair, an accessory or another device. If you were going to spend it with us anyway, credit is simply the better deal.

Photo ID, which we are required to record when buying second-hand devices. Bring the charger and box if you still have them, because both lift the grade.

Usually yes. A cracked screen lowers the grade but rarely makes a device worthless, because we repair them ourselves. Bring it in and we will price it honestly.

The same 360 days as our repairs, covering hardware faults that are not caused by damage after you buy it.

The same day, at the counter, once we have checked the device. There is no waiting on a transfer and nothing to post.

No, and neither should anybody else. A device still under a bill pay or finance agreement is not yours to sell until it is cleared, and it can be blocked on the network afterwards, which leaves the buyer with a brick and us out of pocket.

The same visit. We check the device in front of you, agree the grade, and pay before you leave. There is no waiting for a transfer or a postal cheque.

Not sure which grade yours is?

Bring it in and we will grade it in front of you, or send us a photo and we will tell you what we think.
