Cookies Policy
This Cookies Policy explains how iMEND uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It is designed to comply with GDPR, Irish data protection rules and global best practice while maximising transparency, security and user control.
A cookies policy is only useful if it says what is running today rather than what might run one day, so here is the current position.
| Category | Active today | Consent needed | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Yes | No | Your basket, your repair booking reference and your cookie choice. Stored in your browser, never sent anywhere. |
| Analytics | Yes | Yes | Google Analytics 4, and only after you press Agree. Decline and it is never loaded at all. |
| Functionality | No | Yes | Not in use. |
| Advertising and marketing | No | Yes | No advertising or remarketing pixel runs on this site. If that changes this table changes with it. |
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function, improve user experience, and provide analytics or personalised content.
Cookies may be:
- Temporary (deleted when the browser closes)
- Persistent (remain until manually deleted or they expire)
- First-party (set by imend.ie)
- Third-party (set by external services)
2. How iMEND uses cookies
iMEND uses cookies and similar browser storage to:
- Ensure the website functions correctly
- Improve speed, security and performance
- Remember user preferences
- Measure website traffic and performance
- Analyse how customers interact with pages
- Support marketing and remarketing (if enabled)
We do NOT use cookies to:
- Store sensitive personal data
- Access your phone or computer
- Track you outside imend.ie without permission
3. Types of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the website to work properly. Without them, certain features may break or be unavailable. Examples: security cookies, booking and session storage, site functionality. These do NOT require consent under GDPR.
3.2 Performance & analytics cookies
These help us understand which pages are visited, which repairs people look up and where they leave the booking form. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MPX6NHF5Q2). It does not load, and sets nothing, until you press Agree on the notice; if you decline, the script is never requested. IP addresses are anonymised and ad personalisation is switched off.
3.3 Functionality cookies
These improve usability, such as remembering your device model, saving repair booking details, and remembering language or region preferences. They are optional and require consent.
3.4 Advertising & marketing cookies
None are in use today. If iMEND ever activates one (Google Ads remarketing, a Meta or TikTok pixel), it would require consent in the same way and this policy would be updated to say so before it went live.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by external providers. iMEND does not control how those companies use their cookies, how long they store cookie data, or their privacy practices. Third-party examples include Google, Meta (Facebook / Instagram), TikTok and payment providers (e.g. Stripe).
Please review their policies:
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta: facebook.com/policy.php
iMEND is not responsible for third-party cookie behaviour.
5. Cookie consent
If non-essential cookies are ever activated on imend.ie, you will see a cookie consent banner on your first visit. You may accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences. You can change your choices anytime by updating browser settings or clearing cookies. Essential cookies cannot be disabled because the website cannot function without them.
6. How to control or delete cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser:
- Chrome: Settings › Privacy › Cookies
- Safari: Preferences › Privacy
- Firefox: Options › Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings › Cookies & Site Permissions
- iPhone/Android: Browser Settings › Site Data
Options include blocking cookies, deleting cookies, clearing browsing history and disabling third-party tracking. Note: blocking essential cookies and site data may stop booking pages, the cart or forms from working.
7. Cookies on mobile devices
Cookies work similarly on mobile devices. You may control them through browser settings, device privacy options and app settings (if applicable). iMEND does not collect personal data from mobile devices without permission.
8. Updates to this Cookies Policy
iMEND may update this policy due to new legal requirements, website upgrades or new technologies. We recommend checking this page from time to time. Continued use of imend.ie after updates means acceptance of the updated policy.
