Your data stays yours.

We do not open your photos, sign into your accounts or read your messages. A repair is a hardware job, and the only reason to look at your screen is to check that it works.

A repair, not an inspection.

Almost every repair we do is mechanical. A screen unclips, a battery lifts, a port comes off as a flex assembly. None of that requires your device to be unlocked and none of it involves your files.

Where we do need the device unlocked, it is for testing, and testing means opening the camera to check it focuses and placing a call to check the earpiece. It does not mean going through your gallery.

The people at this bench have repaired thousands of phones. Yours is not interesting to us, and that is the most honest reassurance anybody in this trade can give you.

What we hold, and what we do not.

We keep what a repair shop has to keep: your name, your number, the device, its IMEI, what was wrong, what we did, and when. That is what lets us honour a warranty a year later when you come back with the same fault.

There is deliberately no field anywhere in our system for a device passcode. A bench needs one to test a repair, so it goes on the paper docket that gets shredded, not into a row in a database that is backed up forever. That was a decision made when the system was built, and it is the difference between a policy and a promise.

We do not sell your details, we do not pass them to anyone, and if you ask us to delete your record we will.

Back up first, where you can.

If the device powers on and you can reach it, back it up before you bring it in. Not because we expect to lose anything, but because a device that is already faulty can fail again at any point, including while it is sitting on our counter waiting to be looked at.

On iPhone that is iCloud or a computer. On Android it is Google One or a cable. Either takes minutes and it removes the only genuinely stressful part of a repair.

If it will not power on, do not worry about it and do not keep trying. Repeated attempts to boot a device with liquid damage do more harm than the water did. Bring it in as it is.

When we have to look further.

Data recovery is the one job where the data is the point. If you are here because the photos matter more than the phone, we will tell you before we start what we can attempt and what the odds are.

That work happens on our own bench and nothing is copied anywhere except the drive or device you are taking away. When you collect it, anything we held is removed.

And if we cannot recover it, there is no fee. No data, no charge, which is the only fair way to price a job where the honest answer is sometimes that the drive is gone.

No. A repair is a hardware job. Where we need the device unlocked it is to check the camera focuses and the earpiece works, not to go through your gallery.

For most repairs, no. Where testing needs it, we ask, and it goes on the paper docket that is shredded when the job is finished. There is deliberately no field for a passcode anywhere in our system.

No. A screen, battery or port replacement does not touch your storage. We still recommend backing up first, because a device that is already faulty can fail again at any time.

Your name, number, the device and its IMEI, what was wrong and what we did. That is what lets us honour the 360-day warranty when you come back. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Yes, if the device powers on and you can reach it. It takes minutes on iCloud or Google One and it removes the only genuinely stressful part of a repair.

No. Repeated attempts to boot a liquid-damaged device do more harm than the water did, because current through a corroding board is what kills it. Leave it off and bring it in as it is.

For a straightforward screen or battery repair, no. For anything that involves restoring the device we will ask, and we will tell you before we start rather than ringing you halfway through.

It stays on our bench and is copied only to the drive or device you are taking away. Anything we held is removed when you collect. If we cannot recover it there is no fee.

No. Your reference and surname show your own repair and nothing else, and the status history is written by the system rather than typed by staff, so what you see is what we see.
