Yes. Sign out of iCloud and turn off Find My before you come in. On Apple silicon and T2 Macs an Activation Lock cannot be cleared by anyone without the original Apple ID.
Sign out of iCloud, iMessage and the App Store, then erase and reinstall. On Apple silicon and T2 machines, Activation Lock applies the same way it does on a phone, so a Mac still signed in is not sellable.
More than it does on a phone. Storage cannot be upgraded afterwards on a modern Mac, so a 256GB and a 1TB machine of the same year are genuinely different products and priced that way.
Then you take it away, and that is a real option rather than a polite one. We grade in front of you and explain what we are looking at, so you can see the marks we are pricing. Nobody is asked to accept a figure they think is wrong.
