Why sea water is the one to move fastest on
Salt water conducts far better than fresh, so it creates paths between things that should never be connected while the phone is still live. And when it dries, the salt stays behind as a crystalline residue that pulls moisture from the air indefinitely.
That means the corrosion never gets a chance to stop. A phone that went in the sea and was left a week is a very different proposition from one that went in a sink and was left a week.
