What a battery replacement actually fixes.
- Shuts down with charge still showingThe battery cannot deliver the current the device asks for under load, so it shuts down rather than corrupting anything. It often happens at 20 or 30 percent.
- Battery health well down, or a service messageMost phones report capacity against new. Below about 80 percent most people notice it, and the device may also be throttling to avoid shutdowns.
- It dies at twenty percent and comes back when you plug it inA cell that can no longer hold voltage under load. It is the clearest single sign a battery is finished.
- The percentage jumps aroundThe gauge has lost track of a cell whose capacity has changed. It is the battery rather than a software bug.
- Charging stops well short of a hundred percentSometimes battery health management doing its job, sometimes the cell. Worth checking which before replacing anything.
- The case no longer sits flat on a tableA swelling cell, and this one is urgent. Stop charging it and bring it in.
Before you spend anything
Is it definitely the battery?
A battery is the right answer most of the time, and it is worth ruling out the two things that imitate it.
IfIt drains fast and Battery Health still reads above 85 percent
Worth a diagnostic. A board fault or something staying awake in the background looks identical from the outside, and a battery would not fix either.
IfIt will not charge past a point, or charges only sometimes
That points at the charging port or the cable before the battery. We clean and test the port first, because very often that is the whole repair.
IfThe glass is lifting off the frame
Replace the battery, and do it soon. Fitting a new screen over a swelling battery just breaks the new screen.
IfIt has always been like this since you bought it second hand
Worth checking whether it has been replaced before with a low-grade cell. That is common and the fix is straightforward.
IfCharging is slow as well as short
Check the port before the battery. A dirty port charges slowly and a worn cell empties quickly, and they are two different repairs.
If you are not sure which of these you have, that is what the free diagnostic is for. It costs nothing and it is the step that stops people paying for the wrong repair.
What parts do we fit?
Two tiers, and you choose knowing which is which: a genuine Samsung service part where one is made for this component, or premium aftermarket where none is. The warranty is 360 days on either.
Nobody here will call a part original when it is not. If what fits your phone is premium aftermarket, you hear that word at the counter rather than reading it on a docket afterwards.
- A Galaxy battery comes out through the back, not the front. The rear glass is glued on and has to be heated off first, then replaced with fresh adhesive, which is why it takes longer than an iPhone battery.
- Samsung uses strong adhesive under the cell itself. Getting it out without deforming it is the part of the job that takes the care.

€70The €70 on this page is our standard quote for this repair. Which tier suits your device is a conversation at the counter, and the price for each is on the table before you decide. The 360-day warranty is the same on both, because we would not offer a tier we did not think would last.
A cell sold as 3,300mAh that actually holds 2,900 shows full health on day one and falls off a cliff at eight months. That is the entire reason we are not the cheapest battery in Dublin.

Is anything on the device at risk?
This is hardware work. We do not need to go into your photos, messages or accounts to do it, and we do not.
We do need to switch the device on and use it to test the repair, so we may ask for your passcode. If you would rather not hand it over, tell us and we will show you what we cannot verify without it. Any passcode you give us goes on the paper docket and the docket gets shredded. It is never stored in our system.
Back the device up before any repair. Not because we expect to lose anything, but because a device that has already been dropped is one whose storage has already been shaken, and a backup costs nothing.
What about the water resistance?
After any repair, ours included, work on the assumption that the device is no longer water resistant.
The rating on the box was measured once, on a sealed unit, in controlled conditions. It was never a promise about the device three years later. Adhesive hardens, seals compress and a single drop can break the seal without leaving a mark you would notice.
We reseal with fresh adhesive and it does a real job: rain, splashes and a wet counter are all fine. A submerged phone is not, and we would rather say that plainly than let you find out.
If yours goes near water regularly, say so at the counter and we will tell you what the adhesive covers and what it does not.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is free, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.
