Start there. A device that boots, even badly, is far more likely to give its data up than one that does not.
IfThe screen is broken but the device works
Often the simplest case of all. A working device with a dead display can usually be read once it can be seen.
IfThe account password is not known
Say so before we start. There are limits to what anybody can do with a device nobody can sign into, and it is better to know that up front.

What parts do we fit?
Where Apple supplies a service part for this component, that is what goes in. Where it does not, we fit premium aftermarket and say so. Which of the two you are getting is settled before you agree to anything, and the 360-day warranty does not change between them.
Nobody here will call a part original when it is not. If what fits your phone is premium aftermarket, you hear that word at the counter rather than reading it on a docket afterwards.

Before a part is ordered we establish what has really gone wrong. It is free, and it is the reason people do not leave here having paid for the wrong thing.

The price is confirmed to you before anything begins, and it does not move afterwards unless you agree to something else.

It stays in the shop. The work is done on our own bench by the technicians who do it every day of the week.

Pick it up from Richmond Road or have it couriered back across Dublin. Either way it carries the 360-day warranty.
What happens to what is on it?
We are replacing a part, not reading a phone. Your photos, messages and accounts are not something this job touches.
The one place it comes up is testing. A repair is not finished until it has been used, and using a locked device means a passcode. You are welcome to withhold it, and we will tell you which checks that leaves undone rather than quietly skipping them. A passcode you do give us lives on a paper docket that gets shredded, never in a database.
Back it up first if you can. A device that has taken a knock has had its storage shaken whether or not anything looks wrong, and a backup is free insurance against the day that matters.
What about the water resistance?
Treat the device as no longer water resistant after any repair, including this one.
An IP rating is measured on a brand new, factory sealed device in a laboratory. It is a description of how that device left the factory, not a property it keeps. Heat, age and everyday knocks degrade the seal long before anybody opens it, which is why phones that have never been repaired still let water in.
Opening a device means cutting through adhesive. We refit with fresh adhesive, which gives you back a physical seal that keeps rain and splashes out. What we will not do is claim the original rating is restored, because there is no way for us or for any independent shop in Ireland to test that.
If the device lives near water, tell us when you book. It changes what we recommend and it is a two minute conversation rather than a surprise afterwards.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is free, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.

- Send it in yourselfPost it to the shop with a tracked, insured service and a note with your number. We cannot cover a parcel in transit, and that is the honest trade-off for the route existing.
