Common questions.

We quote the MacBook Air (M1) after a free diagnostic, because the price depends on what we find. No fix, no fee, so if we cannot repair it you pay nothing.

Usually 2 to 3 working days. If a part needs ordering we tell you at the counter, before you commit.

Often yes, and the sums are better than people expect. Parts for the MacBook Air (M1) are widely supplied and cost less than they did when it was the current model, so the repair is cheaper now than it would have been then. We quote it against what the device is worth and say plainly if it does not add up.

On most MacBooks the keyboard is riveted into the top case, so replacing it means the top case assembly. It is a bigger job than it sounds and we will quote it plainly. On older models and on most Windows laptops the keyboard comes out on its own.

Bring it in without turning it on. Liquid under a keyboard runs down into the board, and the keys are usually the least of it. The sooner it is opened and cleaned, the more likely it is that the keyboard is the only thing that needs replacing.

No. The diagnostic is free whether you go ahead with the repair or not, and that is true for the quick check at the counter and the longer one on the bench.

You pay nothing. No fix, no fee covers the diagnostic and the handling, so the only time you pay is when the device comes back working. If a repair turns out to cost more than the device is worth, we tell you that instead of doing it.

Card or cash at the counter when you collect. You get a firm price before any work starts.

On older models, yes. On Apple silicon and most recent Intel MacBooks, memory and storage are soldered to the board and cannot be changed. Tell us the model and we will say straight away.

For common faults on common models, yes, and the price is on the page you are reading. For anything with no clear symptom, liquid damage especially, nobody can price it honestly without opening it, so we do that for free first.

360 days on parts and workmanship. If the same fault comes back and it was not caused by new damage, we repair it again at no cost. Accidental damage, liquid damage after the repair and cracked glass are not covered.
