Common questions.

We quote the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1) after a free diagnostic, because the price depends on what we find. No fix, no fee, so if we cannot repair it you pay nothing.

Usually 2 to 3 working days. If a part needs ordering we tell you at the counter, before you commit.

Often yes, and the sums are better than people expect. Parts for the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1) are widely supplied and cost less than they did when it was the current model, so the repair is cheaper now than it would have been then. We quote it against what the device is worth and say plainly if it does not add up.

On most MacBooks the keyboard is riveted into the top case, so replacing it means the top case assembly. It is a bigger job than it sounds and we will quote it plainly. On older models and on most Windows laptops the keyboard comes out on its own.

Bring it in without turning it on. Liquid under a keyboard runs down into the board, and the keys are usually the least of it. The sooner it is opened and cleaned, the more likely it is that the keyboard is the only thing that needs replacing.

Saturday 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, closed Sunday. No appointment needed on any of those days.

Walk in. We are at 4 Richmond Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 3, open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm. Closed Sunday. You can also book online and we will confirm a slot, or ask us to collect the device anywhere in Dublin, Monday to Friday.

No. These are hardware repairs and we do not open, copy or erase anything on the device. Back it up first anyway, because any device that already has a fault can fail further while it is being worked on.

Usually. A phone that shows nothing is often a phone whose screen is dead rather than a phone that is dead, and the two look identical from the outside. Finding out which is free.

Card or cash at the counter when you collect. You get a firm price before any work starts.

On older models, yes. On Apple silicon and most recent Intel MacBooks, memory and storage are soldered to the board and cannot be changed. Tell us the model and we will say straight away.

For most screen and battery work, 15 to 45 minutes, and people wait in the shop. Anything that has to come apart further, or that we want to run for a while before handing back, we tell you the day rather than guess at an hour.

On the part and on the workmanship, at every price tier. Same fault back, same repair, no charge.
