Is this the right repair?

Book this if you are seeing any of the following on your Nokia 3.4.

  • Only charges at a certain angle
  • Cable feels loose or falls out
  • Charges slowly, or stops and starts
  • Will not charge at all
  • Not recognised when plugged into a computer

Not sure, or more than one fault? Our technicians confirm the cause with a free diagnostic before any work starts.

What the price includes

  • Port cleaned or replaced as required
  • Charge and data transfer tested
  • 360-day warranty on parts and workmanship

No additional paid work is carried out without your approval. If we find something else, we explain it and confirm the cost first.

The difference

The bench is in the building.

Nothing here is posted to a depot in another country and nothing is done by somebody you cannot talk to. That is why we can look at a device again the next morning if it needs it.

Repairs others refuse

Board-level work, older models and devices written off elsewhere. Refused is not the same as unrepairable.

A tier you choose

Genuine, service or premium aftermarket, named and priced before you agree to anything.

Nothing read, nothing kept

A repair is a hardware job. There is deliberately no field in our system for a device passcode.

Told when to walk away

When a repair costs more than the device is worth, we say so. It loses us the job and keeps the customer.

Asked all the time

Common questions.

€50 for the Nokia 3.4, confirmed before any work starts. No fix, no fee, so if we cannot repair it you pay nothing.

Usually same day. If a part needs ordering we tell you at the counter, before you commit.

The Nokia 3.4 is USB-C. The port is soldered to the board rather than plugged in, so a worn one is a bench repair with heat and a microscope. Bring the cable you use with it, because a failing cable gives exactly the same symptoms.

Often yes, and the sums are better than people expect. Parts for the Nokia 3.4 are widely supplied and cost less than they did when it was the current model, so the repair is cheaper now than it would have been then. We quote it against what the device is worth and say plainly if it does not add up.

Often neither. The most common cause is packed lint in the port, which we clean out in a few minutes. Try a different cable and charger first. If it only charges when the cable is held at an angle, or not at all, the port itself is worn and needs replacing.

Whichever the device needs, and we tell you which after the diagnostic. A clean is quick and cheap. A worn or bent port is a soldered component on most models, so it is a bench job with heat and microscope work.

That is the classic symptom, yes, but check the cable first because a cable that has failed at the strain point does exactly the same thing. We test with both before quoting, and we will not sell you a port you do not need.

It varies by model more than any other repair. On some the port is on its own flex and lifts out; on others it is soldered to the board and needs heat and a microscope. The page price reflects which yours is.

Yes. Wireless charging uses a separate coil, so it is unaffected by port work, and a phone with a dead port that still charges wirelessly is a phone that is not urgent.

Bring it in and we do it again at no cost, for 360 days from the repair, on the part and the workmanship both. That does not cover new accidental damage, which we will always be straight with you about.

Yes, with collection across Dublin, an invoice rather than a counter payment, and a single contact rather than a queue. There is a page for that with the details.

Usually. A phone that shows nothing is often a phone whose screen is dead rather than a phone that is dead, and the two look identical from the outside. Finding out which is free.

For common faults on common models, yes, and the price is on the page you are reading. For anything with no clear symptom, liquid damage especially, nobody can price it honestly without opening it, so we do that for free first.

Yes. It makes no difference where a device came from, whether it was bought here, abroad or second hand. Bring it in.

Card or cash at the counter when you collect. You get a firm price before any work starts.
