Phone repair in Dublin 1

Dublin 1 is the closest postcode to the workshop that is not Dublin 3, and the journey is short enough that most people bring the phone in themselves rather than book a collection. If you work in the IFSC or on the north quays, a screen or a battery is the kind of job you can start on a lunch break and collect on the way home.

The areas this covers

Dublin 1 takes in O'Connell Street, Talbot Street, Parnell Street, the IFSC, North Wall, Mountjoy Square, Summerhill and Sheriff Street. If you navigate by landmarks rather than postcodes, that is the part of the city around Connolly Station, Busáras, the Rotunda and the Custom House.

About 2 km south of the workshop. Straight up Dorset Street and onto Drumcondra Road, or one stop north on the Maynooth line from Connolly to Drumcondra station, which leaves you a few minutes' walk away.

If you are coming from the north quays or Sheriff Street, the train is usually faster than driving: Connolly to Drumcondra is one stop and there is no city-centre traffic to sit in. There is free parking on Richmond Road itself if you do drive.

Dublin 1

What comes in from this side of the city.

The docklands end of Dublin 1 is offices, which changes what people need. A company phone that is out of action is somebody not working, so those jobs get the same-day treatment: bring it in, get a firm price, and in most cases have it back inside the hour. If it is a fleet of them rather than one handset, the business page covers how that works and what bulk pricing looks like.

The other half of Dublin 1 is retail and transport. Phones that have been dropped on Henry Street or left on a bus seat come in as cracked glass and dead screens, and those are the two repairs the bench does most. If a phone went missing and came back, or was bought second hand off somebody in a hurry, it is worth having the IMEI checked before spending money on it; we do that as part of the free diagnostic.

Who is here

Offices in the docklands, retail along henry street and talbot street, and a constant flow of people through connolly and busáras.

Getting the device to us

Straight up Dorset Street and onto Drumcondra Road, or one stop north on the Maynooth line from Connolly to Drumcondra station, which leaves you a few minutes' walk away.

Work devices

For a phone that is somebody's job.

A company device out of action is a person not working, so it gets treated differently from a personal phone: priority on the bench, a firm price before anything is opened, and a collection run so nobody spends a morning driving. Where a business is running more than a handful of handsets there is a proper arrangement to be made rather than a series of one-off repairs.

Dublin 1 questions.

Yes. About 2 km south of the workshop. We cover O'Connell Street, Talbot Street, Parnell Street, the IFSC, North Wall, Mountjoy Square, Summerhill and Sheriff Street, and you can either walk in to 4 Richmond Road in Drumcondra or book the weekday collection and have the device picked up and returned to your own address.

Straight up Dorset Street and onto Drumcondra Road, or one stop north on the Maynooth line from Connolly to Drumcondra station, which leaves you a few minutes' walk away. There is free parking on Richmond Road outside the workshop.

The diagnostic is free whether you walk in or send the device, and if we cannot repair it there is nothing to pay at all. Collection and return runs Monday to Friday across Dublin; ask for the current charge when you book, and it is quoted before anything is arranged.

You pay nothing. No fix, no fee covers the diagnostic and the handling, so the only time you pay is when the device comes back working. If a repair turns out to cost more than the device is worth, we tell you that instead of doing it.

Yes. It makes no difference where a device came from, whether it was bought here, abroad or second hand. Bring it in.

For most screen and battery work, 15 to 45 minutes, and people wait in the shop. Anything that has to come apart further, or that we want to run for a while before handing back, we tell you the day rather than guess at an hour.

No. The diagnostic is free whether you go ahead with the repair or not, and that is true for the quick check at the counter and the longer one on the bench.

For common faults on common models, yes, and the price is on the page you are reading. For anything with no clear symptom, liquid damage especially, nobody can price it honestly without opening it, so we do that for free first.

Card or cash at the counter when you collect. You get a firm price before any work starts.

Yes, anywhere in Dublin, Monday to Friday. Tell us where you are and we arrange a time. Outside Dublin we are not set up for collection, so the device would need to come to the shop.

Trusted in Dublin

What Dublin customers say.

Bought a phone at imend, Drumcondra, near DCU. What could have been a difficult experience for an untechical minded person like myself was made so easy by the very helpful staff member who ensured my phone was up and running smoothly with everything working well before I left the shop.
