Dublin 11 covers Finglas, Ballymun and Cappagh: big residential suburbs where a phone is expected to last and a repair is expected to be worth its price. That suits an independent bench better than it suits a manufacturer's replacement programme.
Mon to Sat 10 to 6
Dublin 11 takes in Finglas, Ballymun, Cappagh, Charlestown and Poppintree. If you navigate by landmarks rather than postcodes, that is the part of the city around Charlestown shopping centre, Cappagh Hospital and the M50's northern arc.
Around 5 km north west of the workshop on Richmond Road. Down the Ballymun Road or through Glasnevin, then into Drumcondra. Fifteen minutes on a clear road.
If you are buying a used phone locally, bring it in before you pay for it. Ten minutes on the bench is cheaper than a locked handset.
The second-hand market matters here more than in most postcodes, and it cuts both ways. Buying a used phone privately can be excellent value, and it can also be how people end up with a handset that is network locked, iCloud locked, or carrying a screen that was replaced badly before it was sold. All three are things worth checking before you hand over cash, and all three we will check for nothing.
On the selling side, a device that is sitting in a drawer is worth something now and less every month. We grade in front of you, explain what the grade means, and pay in cash or in credit, with credit worth more because it comes back to us.
The repair work itself from this area is mostly the essentials: screens, batteries and charging ports, done same day and warrantied for 360 days on the part and the workmanship both.
Large residential suburbs, a lot of younger households, and a strong second-hand device market.
Down the Ballymun Road or through Glasnevin, then into Drumcondra. Fifteen minutes on a clear road.
A screen, a battery, a charging port or back glass on a phone that otherwise works costs a fraction of replacing the handset, and all four carry 360 days of warranty. A device with three faults and four years on it usually does not, and we would rather tell you that than take the money. Anything we cannot fix costs you nothing at all.
Yes. Around 5 km north west of the workshop on Richmond Road. We cover Finglas, Ballymun, Cappagh, Charlestown and Poppintree, and you can either walk in to 4 Richmond Road in Drumcondra or book the weekday collection and have the device picked up and returned to your own address.
Down the Ballymun Road or through Glasnevin, then into Drumcondra. Fifteen minutes on a clear road. There is free parking on Richmond Road outside the workshop.
The diagnostic is free whether you walk in or send the device, and if we cannot repair it there is nothing to pay at all. Collection and return runs Monday to Friday across Dublin; ask for the current charge when you book, and it is quoted before anything is arranged.
Yes, anywhere in Dublin, Monday to Friday. Tell us where you are and we arrange a time. Outside Dublin we are not set up for collection, so the device would need to come to the shop.
That depends on what the device is worth and what the repair costs, and we will tell you honestly when the sums do not work. Turning away a job we could have charged for is the reason people come back.
4 Richmond Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 3, D03 FX52, a few minutes from Drumcondra train station and on several bus routes into the city. There is parking on the road outside.
Yes, with collection across Dublin, an invoice rather than a counter payment, and a single contact rather than a queue. There is a page for that with the details.
No. These are hardware repairs and we do not open, copy or erase anything on the device. Back it up first anyway, because any device that already has a fault can fail further while it is being worked on.
Bring it in and we do it again at no cost, for 360 days from the repair, on the part and the workmanship both. That does not cover new accidental damage, which we will always be straight with you about.
You pay nothing. No fix, no fee covers the diagnostic and the handling, so the only time you pay is when the device comes back working. If a repair turns out to cost more than the device is worth, we tell you that instead of doing it.
Bought a phone at imend, Drumcondra, near DCU. What could have been a difficult experience for an untechical minded person like myself was made so easy by the very helpful staff member who ensured my phone was up and running smoothly with everything working well before I left the shop.
