The Apple Watch Ultra 2 arrived in 2023, with a 49 mm Always-On Retina LTPO OLED display and the S9 SiP chip. It charges on a magnetic charging puck and it unlocks with a passcode, or from a paired iPhone. There is a titanium frame, and it is rated IP6X and 100 metres water resistant. The big titanium one, with an orange Action button on the left side and a flat sapphire front. Nothing else in the range has that button. A2986 is the model sold here.

The faults a battery replacement puts right.
- Flat by the afternoonThe clearest sign. A battery is a consumable: it is rated for a few hundred full cycles and then it stops holding what it used to.
- The screen or back is lifting at one edgeA swelling battery pushing the phone apart. This one is genuinely urgent: bring it in rather than pressing it back down.
- It dies at twenty percent and comes back when you plug it inA cell that can no longer hold voltage under load. It is the clearest single sign a battery is finished.
- It only lasts in warm roomsCold makes a worn cell fail sooner. A healthy battery does not care much about an Irish winter.
- Charging stops well short of a hundred percentSometimes battery health management doing its job, sometimes the cell. Worth checking which before replacing anything.

Before you spend anything
Is it definitely the battery?
A battery is the right answer most of the time, and it is worth ruling out the two things that imitate it.
IfIt drains fast but only since a recent update or a new app
Check Settings, Battery for what is actually using it before replacing anything. Software can empty a healthy battery in a morning, and a new cell will not fix that.
IfIt drains fast and Battery Health still reads above 85 percent
Worth a diagnostic. A board fault or something staying awake in the background looks identical from the outside, and a battery would not fix either.
IfIt will not charge past a point, or charges only sometimes
That points at the charging port or the cable before the battery. We clean and test the port first, because very often that is the whole repair.
IfThe glass is lifting off the frame
Replace the battery, and do it soon. Fitting a new screen over a swelling battery just breaks the new screen.
IfCharging is slow as well as short
Check the port before the battery. A dirty port charges slowly and a worn cell empties quickly, and they are two different repairs.
If you are not sure which of these you have, that is what the free diagnostic is for. It costs nothing and it is the step that stops people paying for the wrong repair.
What parts do we fit?
Two tiers, and you choose knowing which is which: a genuine Apple service part where one is made for this component, or premium aftermarket where none is. The warranty is 360 days on either.
We will not describe a part as genuine, original or Apple certified unless that is what is going into your watch. If the honest answer is premium aftermarket, that is what we say at the counter.

Which tier suits your device is a conversation at the counter, and the price for each is on the table before you decide. The 360-day warranty is the same on both, because we would not offer a tier we did not think would last.
A cell sold as 3,300mAh that actually holds 2,900 shows full health on day one and falls off a cliff at eight months. That is the entire reason we are not the cheapest battery in Dublin.

Is anything on the device at risk?
We are replacing a part, not reading a phone. Your photos, messages and accounts are not something this job touches.
The one place it comes up is testing. A repair is not finished until it has been used, and using a locked device means a passcode. You are welcome to withhold it, and we will tell you which checks that leaves undone rather than quietly skipping them. A passcode you do give us lives on a paper docket that gets shredded, never in a database.
Back it up first if you can. A device that has taken a knock has had its storage shaken whether or not anything looks wrong, and a backup is free insurance against the day that matters.
What about the water resistance?
After any repair, ours included, work on the assumption that the device is no longer water resistant.
The rating on the box was measured once, on a sealed unit, in controlled conditions. It was never a promise about the device three years later. Adhesive hardens, seals compress and a single drop can break the seal without leaving a mark you would notice.
We reseal with fresh adhesive and it does a real job: rain, splashes and a wet counter are all fine. A submerged phone is not, and we would rather say that plainly than let you find out.
If yours goes near water regularly, say so at the counter and we will tell you what the adhesive covers and what it does not.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is free, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.

- Send it in yourselfPost it to the shop with a tracked, insured service and a note with your number. We cannot cover a parcel in transit, and that is the honest trade-off for the route existing.

Treat it as urgent. A swelling cell is under pressure and pushing your screen off its frame. Stop charging it, stop pressing the screen back down, and bring it in. We dispose of swollen cells properly rather than putting them in a bin.
Most phone batteries are rated to hold about 80 percent of their original capacity after 400 to 500 full charge cycles, which for most people is two to three years. Heat shortens it, and so does leaving it on charge at high temperature.
Treat it as urgent. Stop charging it, stop using it, and do not press on the back or try to lever the phone open. Bring it in and we will deal with it properly.
Some manufacturers pair the cell to the board and show a notice after any replacement, genuine or not. Everything works; it is a parts message. We tell you in advance if your model does it.
