The Galaxy S21 FE arrived in 2022, with a 6.4 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and the Exynos 2100 chip. Charging is over USB-C and it unlocks with an optical fingerprint reader under the display. There is an aluminium frame, and it is rated IP68. A plastic back with a camera housing moulded into it in the same colour. It shares no screen or battery with the S21 despite the name. The one sold in Ireland is SM-G990B.

- Photos are blurry and will not focusUsually the autofocus mechanism rather than the lens. It often follows a drop, even one that left no mark.

Cameras are the repair where software and hardware look most alike from the outside, so it is worth checking two things before booking.
IfThe camera app is black but the front camera works
That narrows it to the rear module or its connection. Force close the app and restart the phone once first, because occasionally that is all it is.
IfPhotos are hazy but the glass looks intact
Look at the lens in a strong light for internal condensation. If there is moisture behind it this is liquid damage, and a new camera fitted into a wet phone will fog too.
IfIt rattles constantly, not just in the camera app
Something else is loose in the phone. Worth a diagnostic rather than assuming the camera.
IfIt went soft after a screen repair elsewhere
The front camera sits near the display connectors and is easy to disturb. Worth checking before assuming a module failed.
IfIt is only bad in low light
Compare it against another phone of the same model first. Some of what people take for a fault is how the phone has always performed.

Check whether it is the lens cover glass rather than the module first. That is a different and much cheaper part, and half the blurry cameras that come in here need it rather than a camera.

Is anything on the device at risk?
This is hardware work. We do not need to go into your photos, messages or accounts to do it, and we do not.
We do need to switch the device on and use it to test the repair, so we may ask for your passcode. If you would rather not hand it over, tell us and we will show you what we cannot verify without it. Any passcode you give us goes on the paper docket and the docket gets shredded. It is never stored in our system.
Back the device up before any repair. Not because we expect to lose anything, but because a device that has already been dropped is one whose storage has already been shaken, and a backup costs nothing.
Will it still survive a splash?
Treat the phone as no longer water resistant after any repair, including ours.
Apple's IP68 rating is measured on a brand new, factory sealed phone under controlled laboratory conditions. It is not a permanent property of the device. The seal degrades with age, heat and everyday knocks long before anybody opens it.
Opening a phone means cutting through that seal. We refit the display with fresh adhesive, which restores a physical seal and keeps ordinary splashes and rain out. What we will not do is tell you it is back to IP68, because we have no way to test that and neither does any independent shop in Ireland.
If your phone lives near water, say so when you book and we will talk you through what the adhesive does and does not cover.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is free, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.
