The faults a rear camera repair puts right.
- The app opens to a black screenThe module is not being seen at all. Sometimes the camera, sometimes the connection to the board.
- Cracked glass over the lensesSeparate from the rear panel on most models. Fragments sit directly in the light path, which is why photos go hazy or flared.
- Only one of the lenses is affectedUseful to know. The wide, ultra wide and telephoto are separate modules and the price is not the same.
- Spots or haze in every photoDust or moisture behind the lens. It shows worst against a bright sky.
- Haze or flare in bright lightScattered light through cracked or scratched lens glass. Very often the cover rather than the camera behind it.

Cameras are the repair where software and hardware look most alike from the outside, so it is worth checking two things before booking.
IfThe camera app is black but the front camera works
That narrows it to the rear module or its connection. Force close the app and restart the phone once first, because occasionally that is all it is.
IfOnly the zoom is soft and the main lens is sharp
That is the telephoto module rather than the whole array. It is a different part and usually a different price, so ask before booking the full repair.
IfIt rattles constantly, not just in the camera app
Something else is loose in the phone. Worth a diagnostic rather than assuming the camera.
IfIt went soft after a screen repair elsewhere
The front camera sits near the display connectors and is easy to disturb. Worth checking before assuming a module failed.
IfIt is only bad in low light
Compare it against another phone of the same model first. Some of what people take for a fault is how the phone has always performed.

What parts do we fit?
Genuine Apple service parts where they exist for the component, and premium aftermarket where they do not. You are told which one your repair uses before you agree to it, and the 360-day warranty is the same either way.
We will not describe a part as genuine, original or Apple certified unless that is what is going into your phone. If the honest answer is premium aftermarket, that is what we say at the counter.

Check whether it is the lens cover glass rather than the module first. That is a different and much cheaper part, and half the blurry cameras that come in here need it rather than a camera.

What happens to what is on it?
Nothing about this repair requires reading what is on the device, and nobody here does.
Testing is a different matter. To prove a repair works we have to turn the device on and use it, which sometimes means asking for your passcode. Say no if you prefer and we will show you exactly which checks we cannot complete without it. Where you do give it, it is written on the paper docket and the docket is shredded. There is deliberately no field for a passcode in our system.
Take a backup before you come in. It is free, it takes two minutes on a device that still works, and it is the one thing nobody regrets having done.
What about the water resistance?
After any repair, ours included, work on the assumption that the device is no longer water resistant.
The rating on the box was measured once, on a sealed unit, in controlled conditions. It was never a promise about the device three years later. Adhesive hardens, seals compress and a single drop can break the seal without leaving a mark you would notice.
We reseal with fresh adhesive and it does a real job: rain, splashes and a wet counter are all fine. A submerged phone is not, and we would rather say that plainly than let you find out.
If yours goes near water regularly, say so at the counter and we will tell you what the adhesive covers and what it does not.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is free, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.
