The MacBook Pro 15-inch (Intel) came out in 2019, with a 15.4 inch Retina LCD display and the Intel Core i7 or i9 chip. The ports are Four Thunderbolt 3 and headphone and it unlocks with Touch ID at the end of the Touch Bar. There is an aluminium frame. The last 15-inch MacBook Pro, with the Touch Bar and four USB-C ports and nothing else. It was replaced by the 16-inch in late 2019. Ireland gets the A1990.
The front camera shares its assembly with Face ID and the proximity sensor, so what else is failing tells us a lot.
If you are not sure which of these you have, that is what the free diagnostic is for. It costs nothing and it is the step that stops people paying for the wrong repair.
Genuine Apple service parts where they exist for the component, and premium aftermarket where they do not. You are told which one your repair uses before you agree to it, and the 360-day warranty is the same either way.
We will not describe a part as genuine, original or Apple certified unless that is what is going into your laptop. If the honest answer is premium aftermarket, that is what we say at the counter.
You will not find work on the bill you did not agree to. If something else shows up while the laptop is open, we stop and ask rather than deciding for you.
Diagnostics from €25. A clean-up check is free.
A collection and return across Dublin can be added when you book. The repair price and the warranty are the same either way.
The front camera rides in the display assembly on most phones, so the tier conversation usually happens alongside the screen one.

Priced at the counterPremium aftermarket, tested to the same standard
Made to the original specification. On a front camera the difference is small and the saving is real.
Priced at the counterThe price for this repair is confirmed after a diagnostic. Which tier suits your device is a conversation at the counter, and the price for each is on the table before you decide. The 360-day warranty is the same on both, because we would not offer a tier we did not think would last.
Tell us if face unlock stopped at the same time. On several phones that is a different and more involved part than the camera on its own, and it changes what we order.
Two minutes online, or straight in the door at 4 Richmond Road. The more you can say about when it started, the faster we get to the cause.
Before a part is ordered we establish what has really gone wrong. It is free, and it is the reason people do not leave here having paid for the wrong thing.
The price is confirmed to you before anything begins, and it does not move afterwards unless you agree to something else.
Carried out here in Drumcondra rather than sent away, by people who do this repair daily.
We test what we replaced and everything that sits beside it, because that is where a rushed repair shows up.
Pick it up from Richmond Road or have it couriered back across Dublin. Either way it carries the 360-day warranty.
A repair is not finished when the part is fitted. It is finished when the things around it have been checked.
Both, because a module can pass one and fail the other.
Confirmed on a real call with the phone at your ear, which is the only way to know.
Where it shares the assembly, tested before the phone goes back.
Both, because a module can pass one and fail the other.
This is hardware work. We do not need to go into your photos, messages or accounts to do it, and we do not.
We do need to switch the device on and use it to test the repair, so we may ask for your passcode. If you would rather not hand it over, tell us and we will show you what we cannot verify without it. Any passcode you give us goes on the paper docket and the docket gets shredded. It is never stored in our system.
Back the device up before any repair. Not because we expect to lose anything, but because a device that has already been dropped is one whose storage has already been shaken, and a backup costs nothing.
After any repair, ours included, work on the assumption that the device is no longer water resistant.
The rating on the box was measured once, on a sealed unit, in controlled conditions. It was never a promise about the device three years later. Adhesive hardens, seals compress and a single drop can break the seal without leaving a mark you would notice.
We reseal with fresh adhesive and it does a real job: rain, splashes and a wet counter are all fine. A submerged phone is not, and we would rather say that plainly than let you find out.
If yours goes near water regularly, say so at the counter and we will tell you what the adhesive covers and what it does not.
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is from €25, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.
Same repair price and the same 360-day warranty on all three. The only thing that changes is how the device travels.
We quote it after a diagnostic, from €25, because the price depends on what we find. No fix, no fee, so if we cannot repair it you pay nothing.
Usually same day. If the diagnostic turns up something else, or a part has to be ordered, we tell you before you commit rather than after.
A clean-up check is free. Any other diagnostic on the MacBook Pro 15-inch (Intel) is from €25, and you are told the cost before it starts. No additional paid work happens without your approval.
On most models the front camera and the Face ID components are separate parts in one assembly, so the camera can be replaced without touching Face ID. We check yours before we start and tell you if that is not true of your model.
The front camera and Face ID flex have to be transferred to the new display during a screen replacement. Done in a hurry it gets damaged, and that is one of the most common reasons a phone arrives here with a dead selfie camera.
Sometimes, and not always. The dot projector is paired to your phone at the factory, so if that specific component has failed it often cannot be replaced with a working one. We will tell you straight rather than charging you to find out.
Yes, when the job is done properly. On most phones the unlock hardware sits in the same assembly and has to be handled with the camera. That handling is what goes wrong in a rushed repair.
On most phones it is mounted in the display assembly rather than the body, so it comes out with the screen. That is also why it sometimes stops working after a screen repair done badly.
Usually yes. The camera is its own module inside the assembly and it can be swapped on its own.
A front camera module is one of the cheaper parts in a phone, so on most models yes. We will say where it is not.
It can be either, because on most phones the front camera sits in the screen assembly. That is why we diagnose before quoting: replacing a screen to fix a camera fault, or the reverse, is an expensive way to find out.
Both. A lot of MacBook faults that are quoted as a full logic board elsewhere are a single component, and we repair at that level under a microscope. It is usually a fraction of the cost of a board swap.
Card or cash at the counter when you collect. You get a firm price before any work starts.
Yes, with collection across Dublin, an invoice rather than a counter payment, and a single contact rather than a queue. There is a page for that with the details.
Yes. It makes no difference where a device came from, whether it was bought here, abroad or second hand. Bring it in.
