The MacBook Pro 13-inch (Intel) came out in 2020, with a 13.3 inch Retina LCD display and the Intel Core i5 or i7 chip. The ports are Two or four Thunderbolt 3 and headphone and it unlocks with Touch ID on Touch Bar models. There is an aluminium frame. The Intel 13-inch before Apple silicon. A Touch Bar and four ports is a higher-spec year; two ports and function keys is the entry model. A2289 is the model sold here.

What parts do we fit?
Two tiers, and you choose knowing which is which: a genuine Apple service part where one is made for this component, or premium aftermarket where none is. The warranty is 360 days on either.
Nobody here will call a part original when it is not. If what fits your laptop is premium aftermarket, you hear that word at the counter rather than reading it on a docket afterwards.

Diagnostic
Nothing is opened or ordered until we know what failed. There is no charge for this and no obligation to go ahead afterwards.
You approve the price
You hear the number first. If it is not worth it to you, that is a perfectly good answer and it costs you nothing.
The repair is carried out
It stays in the shop. The work is done on our own bench by the technicians who do it every day of the week.
Bench testing
We test what we replaced and everything that sits beside it, because that is where a rushed repair shows up.

Is anything on the device at risk?
This is hardware work. We do not need to go into your photos, messages or accounts to do it, and we do not.
We do need to switch the device on and use it to test the repair, so we may ask for your passcode. If you would rather not hand it over, tell us and we will show you what we cannot verify without it. Any passcode you give us goes on the paper docket and the docket gets shredded. It is never stored in our system.
Back the device up before any repair. Not because we expect to lose anything, but because a device that has already been dropped is one whose storage has already been shaken, and a backup costs nothing.
What about the water resistance?
Treat the device as no longer water resistant after any repair, including this one.
An IP rating is measured on a brand new, factory sealed device in a laboratory. It is a description of how that device left the factory, not a property it keeps. Heat, age and everyday knocks degrade the seal long before anybody opens it, which is why phones that have never been repaired still let water in.
Opening a device means cutting through adhesive. We refit with fresh adhesive, which gives you back a physical seal that keeps rain and splashes out. What we will not do is claim the original rating is restored, because there is no way for us or for any independent shop in Ireland to test that.
If the device lives near water, tell us when you book. It changes what we recommend and it is a two minute conversation rather than a surprise afterwards.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.

- We collect and returnDoor to door across Dublin, Monday to Friday, usually 2 to 4 working days. The repair takes the same time; the courier is the difference.
- Send it in yourselfPost it to the shop with a tracked, insured service and a note with your number. We cannot cover a parcel in transit, and that is the honest trade-off for the route existing.

No. These are hardware repairs and we do not open, copy or erase anything on the device. Back it up first anyway, because any device that already has a fault can fail further while it is being worked on.
