Tell us what it is doing
Walk in during opening hours or book ahead, whichever suits. Tell us what the device is actually doing rather than what you think the fix is.
More than one symptom, or a fault that comes and goes, worked out properly before anybody quotes you for a part.
Includes the part, fitting, testing and the 360-day warranty. VAT included, and confirmed with you before anything is opened.

MacBook Pro 16-inch (M2 Pro/Max), from 2023, with a 16.2 inch Liquid Retina XDR, mini-LED display and the M2 Pro or M2 Max chip. The ports are MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, SD card and headphone and it unlocks with Touch ID in the power button. There is an aluminium frame. Indistinguishable from the M1 Pro 16-inch from outside; the model number is how the two are told apart. Ireland gets the A2780.
A diagnostic is not a repair, it is the step that stops you paying for the wrong one.
If you are not sure which of these you have, that is what the free diagnostic is for. It costs nothing and it is the step that stops people paying for the wrong repair.
Where Apple supplies a service part for this component, that is what goes in. Where it does not, we fit premium aftermarket and say so. Which of the two you are getting is settled before you agree to anything, and the 360-day warranty does not change between them.
The words genuine and Apple certified mean something specific and we only use them when they are true of the part in front of us. Anything else is described as premium aftermarket, plainly.
Nothing extra gets done and charged for without you saying yes to it. Where the diagnostic turns up a second fault, the work stops there and you hear the price before it goes any further.
Diagnostics from €25. A clean-up check is free.
Dublin collection and return is available on weekdays if you cannot make it in. Nothing about the price or the cover changes because the courier brought it.

We confirm what has actually failed before anything is ordered or opened. It costs nothing and it is the step that stops people paying for the wrong repair.
You get the exact figure before any work starts. Nothing else happens without asking you first.
Done at our Drumcondra bench by the technicians who do this every day.
We test what we replaced and everything that sits beside it, because that is where a rushed repair shows up.
Collected from Drumcondra, or returned to your door if we picked it up. Covered for 360 days.
A repair is not finished when the part is fitted. It is finished when the things around it have been checked.
The three things that explain most faults before anything is opened.
End to end, because a fault in one often points at something else entirely.
All of them, so nothing turns up as a surprise a week later.
Including the ones you did not mention, since damage rarely lands in only one place.
Nothing about this repair requires reading what is on the device, and nobody here does.
Testing is a different matter. To prove a repair works we have to turn the device on and use it, which sometimes means asking for your passcode. Say no if you prefer and we will show you exactly which checks we cannot complete without it. Where you do give it, it is written on the paper docket and the docket is shredded. There is deliberately no field for a passcode in our system.
Take a backup before you come in. It is free, it takes two minutes on a device that still works, and it is the one thing nobody regrets having done.
Treat the device as no longer water resistant after any repair, including this one.
An IP rating is measured on a brand new, factory sealed device in a laboratory. It is a description of how that device left the factory, not a property it keeps. Heat, age and everyday knocks degrade the seal long before anybody opens it, which is why phones that have never been repaired still let water in.
Opening a device means cutting through adhesive. We refit with fresh adhesive, which gives you back a physical seal that keeps rain and splashes out. What we will not do is claim the original rating is restored, because there is no way for us or for any independent shop in Ireland to test that.
If the device lives near water, tell us when you book. It changes what we recommend and it is a two minute conversation rather than a surprise afterwards.
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is from €25, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.
Same repair price and the same 360-day warranty on all three. The only thing that changes is how the device travels.
€30, including the part, the fitting, the testing and the 360-day warranty. VAT is included. You get that figure confirmed before anything is opened, and if we cannot repair the phone you pay nothing.
Usually while you wait. If the diagnostic turns up something else, or a part has to be ordered, we tell you before you commit rather than after.
A clean-up check is free. Any other diagnostic on the MacBook Pro 16-inch (M2 Pro/Max) is from €25, and you are told the cost before it starts. No additional paid work happens without your approval.
No. The diagnostic is from €25, you get told what has failed and what it costs, and there is no fee if we cannot fix it.
Usually while you wait for the straightforward ones. An intermittent fault sometimes has to be left running for a few hours to catch it, and we will tell you at the counter if that is likely.
Then you pay nothing and take the phone away knowing what is wrong with it. That is a legitimate outcome and it happens often.
No. It is free, it is honest, and there is no fee if we cannot fix the device.
Usually the same day. Where a fault only shows itself under load we sometimes need to leave the device running, and we tell you that at the counter.
Only with your say-so. You get the cause, the price and the option to say no before any paid work starts.
Then that is what we tell you, and you pay nothing. We would rather lose a repair than sell one that does not make sense.
We test the device against the symptoms you describe, open it if we need to, and identify the actual fault rather than the obvious one. You get told what is wrong, what it costs and how long it takes, and you decide from there.
Yes, and there is no obligation to go ahead. If you decide not to repair it, you take it away and pay nothing.
Yes, with collection across Dublin, an invoice rather than a counter payment, and a single contact rather than a queue. There is a page for that with the details.
Both. A lot of MacBook faults that are quoted as a full logic board elsewhere are a single component, and we repair at that level under a microscope. It is usually a fraction of the cost of a board swap.
Bring it in and we do it again at no cost, for 360 days from the repair, on the part and the workmanship both. That does not cover new accidental damage, which we will always be straight with you about.

Bought a phone at imend, Drumcondra, near DCU. What could have been a difficult experience for an untechical minded person like myself was made so easy by the very helpful staff member who ensured my phone was up and running smoothly with everything working well before I left the shop.
