The iPad Air 11-inch arrived in 2024, with a 11 inch Liquid Retina LCD display and the M2 chip. It charges over USB-C and it unlocks with Touch ID in the top button. There is an aluminium frame. Touch ID in the top button, one rear camera and the front camera on the long edge. That last detail separates it from the 5th generation Air. A2902 is the model sold here.

What a rear camera repair actually fixes.
- A rattle when the camera opensThe stabiliser has come loose. You can hear it if you shake the phone gently near your ear, and it will not settle on its own.
- The app opens to a black screenThe module is not being seen at all. Sometimes the camera, sometimes the connection to the board.
- Cracked glass over the lensesSeparate from the rear panel on most models. Fragments sit directly in the light path, which is why photos go hazy or flared.
- Only one of the lenses is affectedUseful to know. The wide, ultra wide and telephoto are separate modules and the price is not the same.
- Photos are fine but video shakesThe stabiliser again, and it shows up in video long before it shows up in stills.
- A purple or green blob in the corner of every shotLight getting in past a damaged seal, usually after a drop or a poor repair.

Cameras are the repair where software and hardware look most alike from the outside, so it is worth checking two things before booking.
IfThe camera app is black but the front camera works
That narrows it to the rear module or its connection. Force close the app and restart the phone once first, because occasionally that is all it is.
IfOnly the zoom is soft and the main lens is sharp
That is the telephoto module rather than the whole array. It is a different part and usually a different price, so ask before booking the full repair.
IfIt rattles constantly, not just in the camera app
Something else is loose in the phone. Worth a diagnostic rather than assuming the camera.
IfThe lens glass looks cracked in a raking light
That is the cover glass and not the camera. It is the cheaper of the two by a distance.
IfIt is only bad in low light
Compare it against another phone of the same model first. Some of what people take for a fault is how the phone has always performed.

What parts do we fit?
Where Apple supplies a service part for this component, that is what goes in. Where it does not, we fit premium aftermarket and say so. Which of the two you are getting is settled before you agree to anything, and the 360-day warranty does not change between them.

Check whether it is the lens cover glass rather than the module first. That is a different and much cheaper part, and half the blurry cameras that come in here need it rather than a camera.

What happens to what is on it?
Nothing about this repair requires reading what is on the device, and nobody here does.
Testing is a different matter. To prove a repair works we have to turn the device on and use it, which sometimes means asking for your passcode. Say no if you prefer and we will show you exactly which checks we cannot complete without it. Where you do give it, it is written on the paper docket and the docket is shredded. There is deliberately no field for a passcode in our system.
Take a backup before you come in. It is free, it takes two minutes on a device that still works, and it is the one thing nobody regrets having done.
What about the water resistance?
After any repair, ours included, work on the assumption that the device is no longer water resistant.
The rating on the box was measured once, on a sealed unit, in controlled conditions. It was never a promise about the device three years later. Adhesive hardens, seals compress and a single drop can break the seal without leaving a mark you would notice.
We reseal with fresh adhesive and it does a real job: rain, splashes and a wet counter are all fine. A submerged phone is not, and we would rather say that plainly than let you find out.
If yours goes near water regularly, say so at the counter and we will tell you what the adhesive covers and what it does not.
The 360-day warranty
Every completed repair is covered for 360 days on the part and the workmanship. If the display we fitted fails, or the fitting was at fault, we put it right at no charge.
What it does not cover is a new accident. A phone dropped again after the repair, fresh physical damage, liquid damage, or a fault in a part we did not touch, all sit outside it. That is the same limit any honest repair warranty has.
No fix, no fee. The diagnostic is free, and if the repair does not happen you pay nothing.
